Frequently Asked Questions
We believe healthcare should be simple, transparent, and easy to understand. Below you’ll find answers to common questions about Direct Specialty Care, pricing, insurance, appointments, and what to expect as a patient at Balanced Podiatry.
-
As a direct specialty care practice, Balanced Podiatry does not take insurance so we can focus on providing personalized, high-quality care without the restrictions, delays, and administrative requirements often associated with insurance. Patients pay directly for their visits and services, which allows for simple pricing, more time with the provider, and greater flexibility in treatment decisions. Depending on their plan, patients may still be able to submit receipts to their insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
-
Balanced Podiatry operates outside of the traditional insurance model to provide a more transparent and patient-centered experience.
By not billing insurance, we are able to offer clear pricing, longer visits, and treatment recommendations based solely on your needs rather than insurance limitations. This allows us to spend more time listening, educating, and partnering with you in your care.
Many patients are surprised to learn that healthcare costs are not always as straightforward as they seem. While insurance can be valuable in many situations, it can also create unexpected expenses, referral requirements, and limitations on treatment options. Our direct-pay model removes much of that complexity and allows you to know the cost of your care upfront.
Our goal is simple: provide exceptional foot and ankle care with transparency, accessibility, and a focus on the patient-doctor relationship.

Balanced Podiatry does not directly bill Medicare or commercial insurance providers for services rendered; however, depending on the terms of your individual insurance plan, you may have the option to submit claims directly to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Direct Specialty Care is a healthcare model that allows you to work directly with your specialist without the restrictions and administrative hurdles often associated with insurance-based care.
At Balanced Podiatry, this means simple pricing, longer appointment times, and care that is focused on your individual needs rather than insurance requirements. Instead of spending valuable time navigating approvals, referrals, and billing complexities, we can focus on what matters most: understanding your concerns, identifying the cause of your symptoms, and creating a treatment plan that fits your goals.
Our approach is designed to provide personalized foot and ankle care with greater access, flexibility, and attention to detail throughout your healthcare journey.

Podiatrists are medical specialists whose education, training, and clinical experience are focused specifically on the foot and ankle. Because these structures are complex and play a critical role in how we move, specialized care can make a meaningful difference in both diagnosis and treatment.
At Balanced Podiatry, we evaluate and treat a wide range of conditions, from heel pain, bunions, and ingrown toenails to sports injuries, arthritis, diabetic foot concerns, and complex foot and ankle conditions. Treatment options may include education, lifestyle modifications, custom treatment plans, procedures, regenerative therapies, and when appropriate, surgical intervention.
If you are experiencing foot or ankle pain, changes in function, or concerns about your mobility, a podiatrist can provide focused expertise and comprehensive care designed specifically for this part of the body.
Healthy feet support an active life. Our goal is to help you stay moving comfortably and confidently.
